Vizrt brings AI and AR graphics to TriCaster with new Vizion AI/R update

Vizrt has announced a significant update to its TriCaster live production portfolio, introducing real-time AR graphics capabilities alongside AI-powered keying — removing the need for green screens in professional broadcast environments.

The headline addition is TriCaster Vizion AI/R, a new subscription add-on for the TriCaster Vizion platform that pairs AI keying with augmented reality graphics in a single integrated package. The result, says Vizrt, is that broadcasters can now create immersive visual elements and virtual environments without complex builds or specialist technical skills.

The announcements were made at IBC2026 in Amsterdam, one of the broadcast industry’s biggest annual events.

What’s new in the portfolio

Alongside Vizion AI/R, Vizrt introduced three other additions to the TriCaster family. TriCaster Prizm is aimed at mid-tier productions — live events and sports streaming — offering professional capabilities without the complexity of enterprise-level systems. Both Prizm and the updated Vizion platform come with new 2RU hardware including onboard audio and dual power redundancy.

3Play Vivid is Vizrt’s updated instant replay solution for live sports, featuring 10-bit HDR and available both on-premises and in the cloud. The company describes it as bringing together the best features from across the 3Play range into a single strengthened system.

Rounding out the announcements is LivePanel Pro, a browser-based production control interface available across mid- and top-tier TriCaster switchers. It gives operators full control of switching, audio, media, automation and custom macros from a single interface, with a widget-based system designed to simplify workflows.

Why it matters for AR

The Vizion AI/R addition is the most significant from an AR perspective. AI-powered keying has been steadily replacing green screen in broadcast production over the past few years, and combining it directly with AR graphics in one tool lowers the barrier considerably for smaller production teams who want broadcast-quality augmented environments without dedicated infrastructure.

Sports graphics, news studio overlays, and live event production are all areas where AR has become standard at the top end — Vizrt is now making that accessible further down the production chain.
